Taking in the majesty of the races at Deauville in Normandy this trip combines racing with a little history.

Itinerary:
DAY 1 - 20th Aug

Departing from the UK on Eurostar we first visit Paris for a night.
The train leaves at 10.15 am and 12. 20am from St Pancras and take just over 2 hours.

Minibus or coach shuttles will collect you and take you to the hotel.

You will be fully escorted from the time you arrive in Paris by one of our friendly couriers.

In Paris we check into our chosen 4 star Hotel, for the night and the rest of the day is yours to explore.

DAY 2 - 21st Aug

After Breakfast you are collected for the drive to the beautiful town of Honfleur. We will stop en-route at the beaches to pay our respects to the heroes of D-Day before moving off to Honfleur for the night.

Our 3 star hotel is perfect placed so that you can explore this beautiful harbour town on foot from the first second you arrive.

The rest of the day is yours to explore this fabulous fishing village on the Normandy coast.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars to visit and the local "moules" are world famous. Honfleur is also the centre of a thriving arts community and you will have the chance to purchase some truly extra ordinary pieces if you wish.

For those with a refined palatte the town is also famous for being at the heart of the Calvados vineyards. If you have never tasted this exquisite apperitif you really have to buy a bottle. The memory, like the taste, has long finish that lives for a long time.

A long beach runs along side the town and the small parks and continual festivities of the season make Honfleur one of the most wonderful places to visit in Normandy.

Day 3 - Deauville Races - Darley Prix Jean Romanet

After breakfast the coach collects us and moves off for a fantastic days racing at Deauville.

The Darley Prix Jean Romanet race is a class 1 with €250 000 prize money up for grabs.

Deauville is world famous for the quality of its races and the beauty of the towm. This is class 1 racing in the truest sense.

Following the Deuville races we retire to the town for dinner before returning to our hotel for the night.

After a good nights sleep we will make our way back to the ferry for the overnight ferry to the UK. You may book a cabin if you wish or use one of the comfortable couchettes on board.

For guests in a hurry we can offer some scheduled flights to London from Deauville or for groups of 6 or more we are able to charter aircraft to fly you to Shoreham for a reasonable cost.

Day 4 - 23 August
Guest who do not fly and opt for the cruising alternative will arrive in the UK. The coach will drop passengers off in Shoreham, Brighton and en route to London as required.

Deauville is located near to the beaches of Normandy where the allies landed in WW2 so we can't ignore that fact. Our trip includes a visit to Omaha beach to see what remains of the tanks and pontoons. The fate of the world was changed on these beaches so we feel it is important to always make the effort to stop by.
