All About the German Grand Prix

Alternating between the Nurburgring and Hockenheim the German F1 is a big race in every sense of the word. In 2010 the Formula 1 GROSSER PREIS VON DEUTSCHLAND is being run at Hockenheimring.
The circuit is located deep in the countryside south of Frankfurt and North of Stuttgart - home of Mercedes Benz.
Access to the circuit is excellent but it is some way from major cities so here at Pumpkin Tours we recommend that our guests stay in Mannheim.
With the return of Schumacher in Formula 1 for the 2010 season there is a real sense of excitement about this race. Given that Mercedes have Nico Rosberg as Schmachers team mate and with the added spice of Sebastien Vettel and his Red Bull ready to take the crown of the German legend the race at Hockenheim looks likely to be one of the most exciting and dramatic races of the season.
The circuit itself is 2.845 miles long and race distance is 190.4 miles. The key spot for drivers is into Turn 4 where the long bend from Turn 3 allows plenty of time to slipstream and then outbrake your opponent. This race is one where wheel to wheel action is the order of the day and it is morethan possible that one of the newer teams such as Force India or Lotus will make their mark here.
Schumacker started the season driving for Mercedes and the German fans are already buzzing like a hive of bees. He began the 2010 season in decent nick after a break of a few years but there is no disguising the fact that the other drivers all want to beat him. Hamilton, Button, Alonso, not to mention Nico and Webber all want that famous scalp and to take it on his home track will surely make it all the sweeter.
For our guests the option of staying in Frankfurt with its frenetic nightlife is available or you can choose the luxurious option of staying with us at the Maritime Park hotel in Mannheim.
Guests who wish to travel to the German Grand Prix but who have already booked their accommodation are welcome to join us on our daily bus run from Hockenheim to Mannheim and Frankfurt.
The Hockenheimring no longer has the long straights through the woods new track has taken its place. There is now a sharp right turn into the extended high speed "Parabolika" left turn.
At the end of the Parabolika is a dramatic hairpin bend that drivers struggle to master in first gear. Following this sideways steer is a right-left-right-turning into the famous Motodrom where the stadiums rock with the cheering crowds.
