Take a look at these amazing adventures.

First of all we have negotiated the best deals at an amazing off road centre where you can experience at first hand the way it used to be, before traffic wardens, parking metres and conformity ruled the land.

Pumpkin Tours are delighted to be able to offer you an opportunity to drive a whole range of Soviet Era armed vehicles, from the T52 tank that invaded Hungary to a selection of other armoured fighting vehicles and troop carriers that are simply not known in the West. The day is filled with vertical climbs and descents with gun barrels bouncing and wheels and tracks spinning in the mud. You get a full meal served in old fashioned tin pans plus all the adrenaline rush you can cope with.

We can also offer you a trip in an ancient Antonov aircraft, circa WW2. The plane seats 15 and cruises so slowly that you will wonder how it stay up. Words can’t describe the feeling. To say it is unique is an understatement.

Or how about taking a trip in a WW2 PO-2 biplane? The plane will fly you over the city and only 1 person at a time can fly. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience. The wind in your hair, seat of the pants flying that only your grandad would really understand.

Don’t be alarmed. All our trips are certified by the authorities and no one has been injured or killed but without that frisson of danger it wouldn’t be worth doing now, would it?

Whilst you are in Budapest with us we can also arrange series of other adventures such as caving in the Pal-Volgyi caves, visiting the secret Nuclear bunkers under the Castle in Buda and even indoor karting at the biggest indoor arena in the city.

Then when it all gets too much we will take you for a legendary massage at one of the many spa baths in the city. You can have Thai, Swedish, Turkish or Shiatzu massages and relax in a sauna or hot tub until the aches and pains from the tank fade away.

For more details we suggest you watch Michael Palin’s visit when he went around the world in 80 days. You won’t want to miss out.

Prices for the tank driving vary dependent upon the season so please contact us first. Flights on the PO-2 start at an incredible £150 per person. Nuclear Bunker tours are from only £12 per person.

If you are visiting Budapest you really must indulge yourself in a luxurious massage at one of the historic thermal spa's located in the city.

Gellert Spa is one of the most reknowned spa resorts in the world.

With its historic architecture and fabulous facilities it was one of the jewels in the crown of the Hapsburg empire and now it is open to everyone.

Live like a king for a day and immerse yourself in the restoring waters of the thermal hot springs. Follow that with an invigorating massage and foaming turkish style bath and you will leave glowing with renewed vigour and vitality.

Not to be missed!

Hungarian Grand Prix Information

Despite the accident that nearly killed Felipe Massa in 2009 we think the Hungarian Grand Prix is one of the most underrated races on the calendar.

The track is built in a huge natural bowl about 1 hours drive from Budapest. Many of the drivers struggle with the track but we think that from a fans point of view this circuit offers fantastic viewing and incredible value for money. There are ample opportunities for overtaking and with the blind corners and track camber only the best engineering and driver skills will survive a race at the Hungaroring.

In summer the race track can get very hot and we recommend that all guests take care to avoid sunstroke and de-hydration. The track is well served by bars and food outlets and the stands offer great views of the most exciting parts of the track.

Unlike many circuits the Hungaroring is an old track and so it has developed in its own way. The bowl shape of the terrain allows for wide ranging views and in particular the Gold and Silver seating areas have a much larger angle of view than many other newer tracks.

Apart from the racing possibly the best thing about this choice is the city of Budapest. All our guests stay in the city and boy do they know how to party in Buda! The city itself is the proud owner of one of the most impressive parliament buildings in the world. Split in two by the river Danube Buda and Pest are combined as one city with two very different atmospheres. On the river front are a host of open air bars and restaurants and all across the city are a multitude of wonderful venues ranging from the simple bar to the Opera House.

One more thing to remember about Budapest is that it is also the home of some of the worlds great spa’s. Gellert spa is rightly famous as the home of one of the best massages and steam baths and is within easy walking distance from our hotels.

Walking around the city you will be struck by the friendliness of the people and by the stunning architecture of a city that survived world wars, communism and was once the home of one of Europe's greatest empires. (The Hapsburg’s in case you wanted to know.)

Goulash, wine, beer and trumpet cake are some of the culinary delicacies you must try whilst you are in Hungary and if you have a little time why not ask us to arrange a days tank driving in a Russian T52?

Do we recommend Hungary? 100%
