DAY 1 -
Delta Airlines flights depart London Heathrow and Manchester to Nashville (via New York). On arrival in Nashville you'll be met by our local representative for the transfer to the Doubletree downtown hotel
DAY 2 -
Breakfast followed by a full day tour of Nashville including the Country Music Hall of Fame, Ryman Auditorium
and RCA's famous Studio B, once the recording home of popular music titans such as Elvis Presley, the Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash Roy Orbison and many others
DAY 3 -
Departing the hotel after breakfast you'll enjoy a morning 'Stars Homes' tour during which you'll see the homes of Country music greats such as Amy Grant, Ronnie Milsap, Dolly Parton, Martina McBride, the late Hank Williams and Tammy Wynette. We then visit Gaylords Opryland where you'll have some free time for lunch before our coach transfer to Memphis and the Doubletree hotel in Downtown Memphis.
DAY 4 -
Breakfast followed by a day tour of Memphis including Beale Street, the famous Gibson guitar factory tour where you'll see Gibson's first-class luthiers fashioning these one-of-a-kind guitars through every stage of production, the Lorraine Motel, where Dr. Martin Luther King was shot and now home to the Civil rights Museum, the Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum and the Stax Studio where soul giants the likes of Isaac Hayes, Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett recorded 100's of their hits.
DAY 5
After an early breakfast we depart on a full day tour devoted to the King himself 'Elvis Presley'. In the morning we make our way out to Tupelo, Elvis' birthplace. Here you'll see the house where he was born, his school building, the Elvis birthplace museum, the Assembly of God church that Elvis & his family attended and Tupelo Hardware, where Elvis bought his first guitar. Then it's back to Memphis where you'll spend the afternoon at the famous Graceland mansion. Here you'll experience life as Elvis did with an audio-guided tour featuring commentary and stories by Elvis and his daughter, Lisa Marie, including the living room, music room, Elvis’ parents' bedroom, the dining room, kitchen, TV room, pool room and jungle room. In addition, behind the house, you will be able to tour Elvis’ racquetball building and his original business office, Also, a highlight of the mansion tour is Elvis’ trophy building, which houses his enormous collection of gold records and awards, along with an extensive display of career mementos, stage costumes, jewellery, photographs, and much more. The tour ends with a quiet visit to the Meditation Garden, where Elvis and members of his family have been laid to rest.
DAY 6 -
Breakfast followed by transfers to the airport for a morning flight from Memphis to New Orleans. On arrival you'll be met by our Creole representative for the transfer into New Orleans and the beautiful Doubletree Riverside hotel.
DAY 7 -
Today after breakfast you'll enjoy an informative and entertaining walking tour though the French Quarter of New Orleans which will introduce you to the old city as it begins its slow awakening from a sometimes frenetic night life. Your tour guide will point out many of the city's main sights and attractions along with the best entertainment venues and restaurants. After the tour you'll have some free time before boarding the Natchez steamboat for a relaxing lunch cruise on the Mississippi river.
DAY 8
Breakfast followed by the day at leisure in New Orleans or
why not join our optional Plantation House Tour where you'll Experience a bygone era in one of the South's most beautiful settings-Oak Alley Plantation, built in 1839 and marvel at the unbelievable quarter-mile long alley of 28 magnificent Oak trees, each over 250 years old and the setting for such motion pictures as "Interview with a Vampire" and "Primary Colors". Your guided tour will reveal the fascinating stories of the home and its history. The tour includes guided tour of plantation home and narrated coach transportation from the hotel.
DAY 9 -
Breakfast followed by the day at leisure in New Orleans or
An optional New Orleans Swamp and Bayou Tour - After a short coach ride across the Mississippi River, you'll take a fascinating boat trip into the Louisiana swamps and bayous and experience the timeless beauty of Southern Louisiana in a custom built, all weather swamp boat. Your guide will reveal the mysteries of the swamps and bayous and the Cajun Cajun "joie de vivre". Hear how the Cajun's turned soup into gumbo, the washboard into a musical instrument, and the swamps of Louisiana into a paradise. Observe the nesting grounds of alligators, egrets, raccoons, nutria, and many species of snakes and you'll be treated to a Bayou Nature Wildlife Show by a local naturalist. Snakes, alligator snapping turtles and raccoons are among the animal guests.
DAY 10 -
Breakfast and morning at leisure followed by the transfer to New Orleans airport for your Delta flight back to the UK
